The Australian Golf Heritage Society Museum’s collection of golfing equipment, photographs and documents tells the story of golf in Australia. We have a number of permanent displays as well as temporary exhibitions, and an extensive library.

Just opened on 12 April is Golf and War, our exhibition to commemorate the centenary of the ANZAC landings at Gallipoli.

Golf and War looks at how golfers responded to Australia’s involvement in conflicts. Amateur and professional, men and women are profiled. Some were decorated, others were prisoners of war. All had their lives interrupted.

The exhibition also looks at how golfers at home responded to war such as fundraising efforts and the use of golf courses by the military. Golf clubs played a part in remembering the servicemen’s experiences with annual golf ‘digger days’.

You can visit Golf and War on Sundays 10am – 4pm or by appointment. Entry is free.

The Museum can give advice on collecting, preserving and restoring old or antique golf clubs and other golfing artefacts.
